The AGM is an important moment for our community, a chance to reflect on the past year, make key decisions, and shape the direction of SLM moving forward.

AGM documents, including the official notice of meeting, agenda, updated constitution, and supporting materials, are available via the link below:

SLM has grown into something genuinely special over the past few years, a space for connection, visibility, and community.

As we continue to evolve, one of the key principles we are reinforcing is the importance of independence, ensuring that SLM remains community-led, transparent, and able to continue growing as a place people want to be part of, while delivering on its vision and the goals we set.

Our conflict of interest policy plays an important role in this, helping to protect both the organisation and the trust our community places in it.

Committee Nominations – A Call to Step Up

At this AGM, we will be electing the next Committee. There are several vacant positions, and we are actively encouraging members to consider putting their hand up.

This isn’t about having all the answers or experience, it’s about:

  • caring about the community
  • being willing to contribute
  • and helping ensure SLM continues to thrive

We are particularly mindful of maintaining a Committee that can act in the best interests of the Association as a whole, and we encourage nominations from those who share that commitment.

Fresh voices, new ideas, and shared responsibility are what keep this organisation strong.

If you’ve ever thought “maybe I could help”, this is your moment.

We’ll be honest, the sustainability of SLM depends on people being willing to step forward. Without that, organisations like ours don’t just pause… they fade.

We don’t want that. And we know this community doesn’t either.

How to Nominate

If you’re interested in nominating for the Committee, details on the nomination process are included in Committee Nomination Form available in the documents link above. Ensure you return the form signed by the 25th April.

If you have questions or want to talk it through, feel free to reach out or chat with a committee member next Friday at our social, we’re more than happy to chat.

This is your community.

Your voice matters.

And your involvement shapes what comes next.
