SLM Movie Night – PILLION

February 19 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

SLM Movie Night — PILLION

We’re excited to introduce SLM Movie Night, our very first cinema-based social, and what a way to begin. We’re heading to see PILLION, a bold, provocative film that speaks directly to power, desire, identity, and the complexity of kink and leather relationships. Pillion explores the dynamic between a dominant biker and a younger submissive, unpacking consent, control, vulnerability, and the unspoken rules that bind them. It’s raw, intimate, and unapologetic, a film that resonates deeply with leather and fetish communities and invites reflection long after the credits roll.

We’re excited to confirm that this private screening of PILLION is now locked in.

🎬 Private Screening – Cinema 1
📍 Palace Cinema Moore Park, Entertainment Quarter

The film will commence at 6:30pm and conclude around 8:30pm. Following the screening, we’re encouraging everyone to gather just a few steps away at Watsons Hotel for a drink, a bite, and a post-film debrief.

🕰 Evening Agenda

  • 6:00 – 6:15pm – Arrive and Group photo at the cinema entrance 6:15pm (please be prompt)
  • 6:30pm – Movie begins
  • ~8:30pm – Walk few steps to Watsons Hotel for drinks, food, and conversation

We want to make this a moment. We encourage everyone to gear up in your finest leather and fetish, while staying comfortable enough to enjoy the film. Let’s show up together and make a statement, visible, proud leather people taking up space.

Accessibility Update
We want to be transparent that we made genuine efforts to arrange a private screening with captions. Palace Cinemas worked collaboratively with us and contacted the film’s distributor on our behalf. Unfortunately, the distributor has confirmed that no open-captioned version of the film is available, and the cinema required for this private screening does not have closed-caption technology. We regret that captions cannot be provided for this session.

CONTENT WARNING

Ahead of the event, we want to share something important in a considered and respectful way. We have been made aware that some clubs and community groups have reported that aspects of the film may be triggering for individuals who have experienced unhealthy or harmful dominant/submissive dynamics. We understand that power exchange themes can affect people differently, particularly where past experiences have been difficult or traumatic.

With that in mind, we feel it’s important to make you aware that concerns have been raised and that some viewers may find parts of the film confronting or upsetting.

If this is something that may impact you, we encourage you to do a little research on the film’s content beforehand and make the decision that feels right for you. Your wellbeing always comes first.

Would really love to come but unfortunately clashes with the Bear Essentials sauna party. Busy calendar time, of course, during Mardi Gras. Will send loving leather wishes in solidarity! Steve x

As an alternative option if a venue can’t be secured. As part of Mardi Gras Film Festival (Queer Screen), Pillion is also being shown on the 17th Feb at Event Cinemas George Street.
