Our committee members are here for you. We welcome new attendees to approach committee members and say hi, we’ll gladly introduce you to others, help you find your feet, and do what we can to make you feel welcome. We encourage our members to keep an eye out for newbies and those on thier own to engage and make them feel welcome where possible.
We know it can take courage to approach people and engage, but you’re not doing it alone. SLM is a safe space, and we recognise that everyone’s journey starts somewhere, each one unique and deserving of respect.
If a small gesture from us can help you feel supported on your journey, just let us know. We’re here for you.
When the next event comes up I would love to be there as it will be my first visit to an SLM night. I recently joined as a member since I don’t feel comfortable with where the bears have moved to, and the Oxford feels more like home to me. I know some of their community attend your events and social nights but am unsure of how many that would be.
