We’re pleased to share with you the new Committee for Sydney Leather Men (SLM), elected at our AGM on Saturday 2 May 2026.
A ballot was conducted by the 29 members in attendance, resulting in a Committee that reflects both continuity and renewal, with approximately 60% of committee members returning, alongside new faces bringing fresh ideas, energy, and perspectives to help lead SLM forward.
We warmly congratulate the following members on their election:
• Brendan Barry
• Brendon Ludlow
• Daniel Habashy
• Jaime Aguilar
• Jon Nguyen
• Luis Beltran
• Nigel Thomas
• Sam Woods
• Timo Rissanen
We would also like to acknowledge and thank Kevin and Luke, who nominated and put themselves forward for the Committee but were unsuccessful on this occasion. Stepping up is not easy, and we genuinely appreciate their willingness to contribute. We hope they will continue to support SLM as they have been doing.
At the AGM, the updated Constitution was also unanimously approved by members in attendance. In line with this, the newly elected Committee will determine roles and responsibilities in the coming weeks. There will be a transition period, with support from outgoing Committee members to ensure a smooth handover, and we wish the new team every success.
We are also pleased to confirm that, following the recent resignation of Tony Pike as Public Officer, the Committee has appointed Ryan Arscott to this role. We congratulate Ryan on his appointment and extend our sincere thanks to Tony for his support and commitment to SLM.
While this marks an exciting new chapter for SLM, it is also a moment to acknowledge and thank two of our founders, Mick Watson and Igor Rudar, who have chosen to step away from the Committee to make space for new leadership. Their vision, time, and dedication have been instrumental in building SLM into what it is today, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they have contributed.
We look forward to seeing them around the community after a well-earned break.
This is an exciting time for SLM, with new voices, new ideas, and continued community support, we’re confident in the success that comes next.
