Community: Forged through countless conversations and two years of meticulous planning, we celebrate our community’s diversity by fostering a supportive space for like-minded Leather Men, while remaining firmly committed to the supporting the broader LGBTQIA+ and kink communities we’re proudly part of.
Engagement: Through regular social events, including our popular monthly Socials, UNITY events and Sydney Leather Festival involvement, we bring our members closer together, fostering interaction, bonds and growth.
Collaboration: While our focus is on fostering a strong and supportive space for Leather Men, we are equally committed to collaboration across the wider community. We believe in playing well with others, supporting events, working alongside other groups, and sharing the warmth and connection our members value, so that others may experience the same. Through thoughtful partnerships and shared efforts, we help bring a touch to uplifting the broader community around us.
Reviving Tradition: We’ve always been driven by a commitment to preserving the rich history of leather culture and ensuring it didn’t fade into the shadows. In revitalising Sydney Leather Men from its earlier existence, we were proud to help bring back the Sydney Mr Leather title in 2023 after a seven-year hiatus, an exciting milestone that has since inspired the return of the Sydney Ms Leather title, the reemergence of other community organisations, and the revival of long-missed events from Sydney’s vibrant leather past.
Welcoming Spirit: We welcome individuals who are new, curious, or aspiring to explore the ‘Leather Men’ scene. Our aim is to create a friendly environment where everyone can engage at their own pace and in their own way. All we ask is that you show a willingness to connect, whether by approaching organisers for an introduction or taking a moment to say hello to those around you. Everyone starts somewhere, and we’re here to help you feel at home.
Respect & Integrity: Our members are the heart of SLM. To ensure everyone can enjoy a safe, respectful, and uplifting experience, we uphold a clear set of policies and a Code of Conduct that all members commit to. These guidelines reflect our shared responsibility to foster a space where our love of leather and community can be celebrated without fear of discrimination, harassment, or bullying. Disrespect, whether based on gender identity or expression, race, culture, religion, sexual orientation, political beliefs, or individual kinks and fetishes, has no place here. Every member is expected to act with kindness, integrity, and respect, always prioritising the well-being of others.
